026 by =marine-artist-james I'm reminded of work from 200 years ago in this piece, a solid traditional work with a old style setting and a master's skillful touch. Be sure to view this artists main gallery for more skilled traditional paintings. (Suggested by `p-51 and Featured by !Subversive-imaginati)

Ignorance is bliss.

that is incredibly realistic, especially with the gradation with the lights and darks (which I cannot do for the life of me), and EXCELLENT work with painting the sea and detailing the background! :D

No treatment of this subject is as "un-cheesed" as yours is. I am still awed at how you can please the viewer with such actual realism, while presenting a subject matter that many artists shy away from, yet art buyers have difficulty finding anything of such quality. I paint in oils, and I would buy this for my Dad who is an old Navy guy, just because I know I'd never master the waves like you do.

thanks, your comments are very much appreciated.
its true there are not that any marine artists in this day and age, but people keep confusing me with another marine artist also named james bartholomew.... freaky.
:icontiger-croc:
There are two of you? Wow, that's exciting! :giggle: Does he have the same style as you or is he different?
:icontiger-croc:
Just thinking... I've recently found that there are three of me in my area of Michigan. That does feel freaky. But I don't think we're all artists, so not as freaky.
